After three years, 3857 yards and 38 touchdowns, the Dallas Cowboys released wide receiver Terrell Owens. Rhis was a mistake as Owens is an exceptionally talented athlete who has no off-field problems and years left in him.

0DENNY'S 'Grand Slam" Breakfast Promo A Hit With Post-SB Media

DENNY'S SUPER BOWL offer for a free "Grand-Slam Breakfast" for "everyone in America" from 6: 00 AM until 2 PM local time, has been a hit on all local and national media outlets, notably radio and TV, where the national low-priced breakfast/lunch restaurant has seen it's name branded all over the airwaves and Internet.
In San Francisco, almost every major TV news out let sent a reporter and crew to a Denny's in nearby Emeryville and San Pablo, CA. "Talk 910, KNEW's morning team of "Armstrong and Getty" spoke to several callers who took advantage of the promotion; one man said the local Denny's he ate his breakfast platter, had to give out "coupon's", a sort-of "food IOU" because the lines were too long.
ALL-Sports station KNBR 680's morning "Murph and Mac" sent reporter Dan Dibley to the SF Denny's. KNBR's #1 male, 25-54 demo probably dictated that action.
Denny's ran the 30-second spot during the second half of Sunday's SUPER BOWL 43. The residual media the company has received, apparently paid off; all three of the network morning shows did a piece of the "Grand-slam" freebie. The cost of a "Grand--Slam" breakfast is $3.99--it consists of two eggs, two pancakes, two pieces of bacon and two sausage.
A hit with consumers and probably every truck driver in America. Maybe a few cardiologists too.

1RAIDERS/NINERS New Stadium? Why Not Treasure Island?
IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE. A new Bay Area Football-Only stadium in a perfect setting, but first...
There's talk the NFL has urged the SF 49ers and OAKLAND Raiders to combine forces and build a shared stadium, similar to the NY Jets/NY Giants alliance in the Meadowlands, only the chances are slim and none that Al Davis and the Yorks could ever join forces and work together to build their new abode.
BUT...if they did, I have the perfect location...TREASURE ISLAND. Think about it.
1. Geographically, how superb would TI be? Perched smack dab between SF and Oakland, with a stunning view of the SF city skyline and new eastern span of the Bay Bridge.
2. Available land. Most of Treasure Island is jointly owned by private developers and the Govt. Think of how muddled the proposed Santa Clara stadium project is, what with lack of support among city offcials, residents, Great America Corp, etc. Beyond that, even if a proposed ballot measure were to pass in November, given the state of the economy, the lack of financing available, realistic chances of a new stadium in the South Bay are slim at best.
3. A SuperBowl site. That's right. There's nothing like the civic and monetary alure of your city's region to host the NFL's elite Championship, and no doubt the reward of a new stadium in the Bay Area seems only logical and the NFL loves SF.
OK, potential hassle: Traffic. Only one way in and one way out at Treasure Island, but a simple way around that problem...Shuttle busses from the city and Eastbay can bring fans into the island, an since most games take place on Sunday, much of the vehicular traffic would be limited and no commute traffic.
Allow limited amount of autos into the island with a surcharge on parking.
Treasure Island would make for an esthetically beautiful football stadium; one in which BOTH teams could combine it's economic clout, not have to rely upon public money for infrastructure, and could get possible private developer money, who may be interested in building some adjacent housing/retail around the new stadium.
Makes too much sense. Just Do it!

1Are KNBR'S "Razor and Mr. T" off Larry Baer's XMAS List?
JUST A QUESTION...
Has SF GIANTS PRESIDENT LARRY BAER taken KNBR'S Afternoon Personality RALPH BARBIERI off his Christmas list?
The "Razor" implored Baer and his Giants to sign Manny Ramierez in a much-discussed interview last week. Larry sounded flustered. A bit stymied too.
Two Questions: 1. Why did Baer do the show, knowing Barbieri's relentless style, (which, by the way, I happen to like) ?
2. And will Baer ever do the show again?
Stay tuned.
**By the way, Larry, WHY NOT sign MANNY? It's only money, right?
